How to make Delicious Anjappar's chettinad chicken chops - chicken chops curry recipe

INGREDIENTS:

chicken leg piece with body - ready up 3 pieces (1/2 kg)

oil – 6 Tsp

Anise – 1/2 Tsp

pepper seeds  – 1/2 Tsp

pepper powder – 1 Tsp

Brinji leaf (Bay leaf) - 5 to 6 pieces

Big Onion - 2 pieces

cumin – 1/2 Tsp

 Cinnamon – 2 to 3 pieces

Clove – 1/2 Tsp

 Cardamom – 2 to 3 pieces

Dry chilli - 5 pieces

Blow job powder – 1 Tsp

chopped small onion – 20 pieces

chopped tomato – 3 Tsp

chilli powder – 1/2 Tsp

ginger-garlic paste – 1 Tsp

mainly, fine chopped green chilli – 2 Tsp

crushed garlic – 1-1/2  Tsp

curry leaf – 1 spring

curry leaf-green chilli-poppy grinded paste – 5 Tsp

coconut grinded paste – 1/4 cup

Salt – 1-1/2 Tsp (up to taste)

Ghee – 1/2 Tsp

 

Preparation time: 10 min.
Cooking time: 25 min.
Serve: 3 to 4

COOKING COMMENTARY:

Let's we see now how to do this. Ignite the stove. Chops is commonly done in mutton dishes. Chicken chops is our special variety. Since we are getting chops with masala, we can use in two ways. One is we can make chicken chops like this, second one is we can use masala for meals, and tiffin items. It is that tasty food. We are adding green chilly for spice. Add little bit of pepper, so that the taste will be nice.

Oil got heated, first we put cinnamon, clove, cardamom, brinji (bay) leaf with anise, pepper, cumin, crushed garlic, curry leaf. Add little bit of chopped green chilli, we can add green chilly also in masala. If we add in chopped small onion, we will get good flavour. Since it is masala, add only required amount of small onion. We need to add masala according to amount of gravy required. We can take either 2 big onions or take 20 small onions, chop it in smaller pieces so that it will render nice taste. add some salt while sauté onion like this, now it slightly turns into brawny golden colour, it seems onion got sauté well.

In our Anjappar’s best dishes, how mutton chops are well known to all, like that in chicken dishes, chicken chops is a tasty food. Now onion got fried well and add one spoon of ginger-garlic paste. As I already told you, add curry leaf, green chilli, poppy and got it fried. It is a mixture of curry leaf, green chilli and poppy, putting these three in a kadai and leave little oil in this and can slightly fry by adding little water. Let we grind and kept it.

Now we are adding 3 spoons of tomato, we will feel the flavour while sauté this, add one spoon of blowjob powder and little bit of chilli powder. Let’s sauté well till it turns into brown colour and add water slightly. Chicken piece shall be bigger in size so that it will be nice enough and even tastier to eat. As for chops is concerned, it can be done as gravy or we can make it as semi gravy too. Since we add coconut masala we can do it as we like. As i told you earlier, cut the chicken piece like this. Why because, if you use smaller sizes, masala will mix together well.

When we use bigger size of pieces, we have to scratch it so that it gets easily cooked and also masala gets penetrated inside well. After boil comes, we are putting chicken pieces. Let us allow 5 minutes for boiling and cover it. We put the chicken after 5 minutes left. Now we notice that the masala turned into reddish colour. Add grinded coconut paste. Chops is a kind of dish always made using coconut. As I told you we need more gravy, if we use minimum two spoons of coconut paste so that we will get the thickness. We have already added half the salt, add the remaining salt and add pepper powder.  If we see the colour yourself will get to know. We will have eager to eat when see this, kids will also be eager’s like eating tandoori chicken. similarly, in chettinad dishes, chicken chops is a very nice dish

 In our Anjappar’s favourite dishes, chicken chops play vital role. It is for looking, for eating, taste wise, will be so nice. From kids to adults would like to have this dish. We have not added red chilli. added only green chillies. Almost it got ready, before finish it add ghee slightly. Let’s wait for 2 minutes until coconut raw smell goes. Almost it got ready.
